Prompt

Act as a time management expert. I am going to give you a messy list of tasks and you are going to organize it into the Eisenhower Matrix so I know exactly where to start. My tasks: [PASTE YOUR LIST, ONE TASK PER LINE, EX: "reply to the client’s email", "gym", "close the monthly report", "book the dentist"] Context (optional): - Tightest deadlines: [EX: the report is due Friday] - Important goals for this period: [EX: close 2 new clients] Rules: 1. Sort each task into one of the 4 quadrants: (1) Urgent and Important — do it now; (2) Important, not urgent — schedule it; (3) Urgent, not important — delegate or dispatch fast; (4) Neither urgent nor important — drop it or postpone it. 2. If a task is vague, assume the most common scenario and carry on without asking me. 3. At the end, name the 3 items I should do TODAY, in that order, with one sentence on why each comes first. Response format: a table with the columns Quadrant | Task | What to do with it. Then a "Start here" block with the first 3 numbered steps.

How to use

Copy the prompt and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, swapping the [PASTE YOUR LIST] field for your real tasks — a messy dump is fine, one per line. The AI returns everything sorted into the four quadrants of the Eisenhower Matrix and already points at the first three steps of your day. After the first answer, talk to refine it: ask "reorganize this assuming I only have 3 free hours today" or "the report just became top priority, adjust the order". You can also paste tomorrow’s list asking for the same format, turning this into a daily prioritization habit.
