Act as a productivity coach who specializes in time blocking. Build a realistic weekly schedule for me, reserving blocks of time for each commitment and leaving slack between them.
My context:
- Hours I work / am available: [EX: 8am to 6pm, Mon to Fri]
- Fixed commitments: [EX: team meeting Mon 10am, lunch 12–1pm]
- Tasks and projects for the week: [LIST, EX: write the proposal, review contracts, study Spanish 3x]
- My highest-energy hours: [EX: mornings]
Rules:
1. Put deep-focus tasks in my highest-energy hours and the light ones (email, admin) in the energy dips.
2. Leave buffer blocks between commitments for the unexpected, and do not fill 100% of the day.
3. Group similar tasks into the same block (batching) and reserve a fixed slot just for email and messages.
4. Do not overload a single day; if it does not all fit, push the excess out and tell me what did not make it.
Response format: one table per day (Time | Block | Task). At the end, list "What did not fit" and one tip for next week.
How to use
Copy the prompt and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, filling the [BRACKETS] with your hours, fixed commitments and the week’s tasks. The AI builds a day-by-day schedule in blocks, fitting the heavy work into your highest-energy hours and leaving slack for surprises.
After the first version, adjust it in conversation: "a meeting came up Wednesday at 3pm, redo it" or "I want Tuesday morning free for deep focus". At the end of the week, paste what actually happened and ask it to calibrate next week’s plan better.
