Prompt

Act as an experienced project manager. I am going to give you a big, slightly vague goal, and you are going to break it into phases, deliverables and concrete next actions so I can start today. My project/goal: [DESCRIBE, EX: "launch my online course", "organize the wedding", "change jobs"] Context: - Deadline I want: [EX: 3 months] - Resources I have: [EX: 5h a week, budget X] - What is already done: [EX: nothing yet / the content is already recorded] Rules: 1. Split it into 3 to 5 logical phases, in the order they should happen. 2. Inside each phase, list the deliverables and, for each one, the physical, concrete NEXT ACTION (a verb + something I can do in under 30 min), not generic tasks. 3. Mark dependencies ("only do X after Y") and the project’s main risk/bottleneck. 4. Point out the very first step that unblocks everything. Response format: the phases as headings; inside each, a list of deliverables with the next action in bold. At the end, a "Start here" block with the first action.

How to use

Copy the prompt and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, describing your big goal in the [DESCRIBE] field — even if it is still vague. The AI turns that paralysing "huge project" into clear phases and concrete next actions, pointing at exactly where to start today. Then use the conversation to go a level deeper: pick a phase and ask "break down Phase 1 only, into tasks of 30 minutes or less". As you make progress, come back and ask it to update the plan with what is done and what has moved.
