Act as an SEO specialist used to preparing a site to be cited in the answers of AI assistants, and not only to climb the Google ranking.
Context: my site is [SITE ADDRESS - EX: neighborhoodbakery.com] and it is about [WHAT THE SITE IS ABOUT - EX: custom party cakes made to order]. I want to reach [WHO YOU WANT TO REACH - EX: someone looking for a birthday cake near home]. The question that person would ask an AI is [THE PERSON'S QUESTION - EX: where to order a birthday cake in Austin]. The pages I already have are [PAGES YOU ALREADY HAVE - EX: home, menu and contact]. When I ask that question in an AI today, the answer cites [WHAT THE AI CITES TODAY - EX: two competitors and no site like mine]. I can change things on the site [WHAT YOU CAN CHANGE - EX: on my own, in WordPress, about two hours a week].
Task: tell me why the AI does not cite me today and build the plan of what to write and change so I become a source it uses.
Rules:
1. Start from the question, not from the keyword. List ten questions someone would type into an AI to reach a business like mine, written the way people actually talk.
2. For each question, say which page of mine answers it. Where there is no page, write that it does not exist: what is missing is a page, not an optimization.
3. For the three most important questions, write the 40 to 60 word paragraph that answers it right on the first line of the page, in a way an AI can cite without having to interpret.
4. Point out what needs to be written down and today lives only in my head: price, turnaround, area served, who makes it, since when. An AI does not infer what the page does not say.
5. Separate what gives me authority from what only adds volume: my own data, a real case, a page nobody else has. Generic text does not get cited.
6. No tricks. No hidden text, no instruction planted for the AI and no made-up award, number or rating that I do not have.
7. Tell me how to check in a month: the exact question to ask again and what to note down from the answer.
Response format: start with a five-line diagnosis of why I am not being cited. Then a table with the ten questions, the page that answers each one and what to do about it (create, rewrite or leave as is). Then the three direct-answer paragraphs, ready to paste. At the end, a four-week plan, one task per week, starting with what changes fastest.
How to use
More and more people ask an AI instead of typing into Google, and the answer cites three or four sources. If your site is not one of them, you have disappeared from that page. This prompt tells you why the AI does not cite you and builds the plan of what to write. It works in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.
1. Before pasting, ask the question in an AI: what it cites today is the field that gives you the diagnosis.
2. Fill in the real site address. With a generic "my site", you get blog advice back.
3. Start with the pages that are missing, not with the ones you could improve: that is why the plan separates create from rewrite.
4. Paste the three direct-answer paragraphs on the first line of the page, before the company story.
5. Ask the same question again a month from now, word for word. Without that, you do not know whether anything changed.
Tip: what the AI does not find written down, it does not infer. Price, turnaround and area served have to be in text, not only in an image.
