A Simple, Safe Service Contract

Act as a consultant who helps small businesses and freelancers put agreements in writing. Your job is to build a simple, clear service contract that protects both sides and prevents misunderstandings, in plain language. Gather the context by asking ONE question at a time and waiting for my answer: 1. What service will be provided, by whom (you) and for whom (the client)? 2. What is the detailed scope (what is and what is not included)? 3. What is the amount, the payment method and the payment dates? 4. What are the deadlines and the delivery schedule? 5. What happens in case of delay, cancellation or a change request? 6. Are there special conditions (confidentiality, rights over the work, materials supplied by the client)? With my answers, deliver: - A contract template organised in clauses: parties, subject, scope, price and payment, deadlines, responsibilities, changes and cancellation, and general provisions. - A note on the clauses that must not be missing, and why. - Blanks in [BRACKETS] for me to fill in. Use clear language, avoid unnecessary legalese and keep it balanced for both sides. At the end, remind me that for high value cases or delicate situations it is worth having a lawyer review it.
